Hazardous Waste Recycling

Do you have a pile of old paint cans, outdated pesticides and car maintenance products sitting in a corner of your garage? If the answer is yes, you are not alone. Most people find that over the course of a year or two they accumulate a quantity of leftover, unwanted home maintenance products. No one wants to put these things in the garbage, but many don’t know what else to do.

Quinte Waste Solutions offers a program throughout the year where homeowners can drop off Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) at various locations throughout the Quinte region. Check out our Collection Schedule to find an event near you and to see what’s accepted. The products collected at these events are categorized and then either Reused, Recycled, or packaged for safe disposal.

Check our Events Calendar, or watch for an ad in your local newspaper.

Re-Use Program

The items collected at our events are sorted and any reusable items are set aside for our once-a-week Re-Use Days.

Feel free to drop by our Re-Use Days every Wednesday from April through October, the HHW Depot at 75 Wallbridge Crescent in Belleville is open to the public from 2pm until 4pm for the pick-up of these re-usable items. There is no charge, however a donation to a local foodbank is always welcome.
