Privacy Policy

Quinte Waste Solutions strives to respect the privacy of all users. We will not retain information provided by residents for any other use outside of assisting them with their recycling service and local information. All personal and identifiable information received online, through email, by phone, or in person is kept private and confidential. We use IP addresses to track trends generally and to understand demographics of our online uses. All information gathered by our Communications and Customer Services departments are non-personal or defining and are used exclusively to better understand our platform to ensure educational and communications tools are properly assisting residents in our service area. Quinte Waste Solutions strives to be accessible to all residents serviced by Quinte Waste Solutions. We are committed to providing a wide range of tools to fit the needs of various residents.

Social Media Policy

The goal of our social media pages are to educate residents in the 9 member municipalities serviced by Quinte Waste Solutions on our blue box recycling program and our household hazardous waste program. The nine-member municipalities are as follows: Belleville, Quinte West, Prince Edward County, Marmora & Lake, Madoc Township, Centre Hastings, Stirling-Rawdon, Tweed, and Tyendinaga Township. We strive to ensure that recycling and hazardous waste practices are understood with accessible information available on each one of our social media accounts. Upcoming events, recycling changes, schedule delays, or cancellations will be published on our website and through social media accounts in a timely manner to ensure that residents are able to access up to date relevant and accurate information. Comments involving insults towards employees of Quinte Waste Solutions will be deleted. Inappropriate and offensive language towards Quinte Waste Solutions or other residents commenting on the Quinte Waste Solutions’ social media pages will be deleted. Those who continuously write slandering remarks, insults, or inappropriate content will be blocked from our social media accounts in order to ensure that these platforms are positive and friendly in nature. We believe our social media pages are an education tool to best ensure that residents have the necessary information they need in order to work with us to recycle material and properly dispose of hazardous and electronic waste. Our goal is to provide a platform that allows for education and information to be received by residents. Appropriate comments, questions, and clarifications regarding the blue box and household hazardous waste programs are encouraged to ensure that communication between Quinte Waste Solutions and residents in our service area continues to be clear, positive, and accurate.
